I just finished reading "The Spirit of Sweetgrass" and wanted to tell you it was a wonderful book. I read it in two days and did not want to put it down and I do not like first person books.

We had just gotten home from a vacation in Charleston and reading your book was like being there all over again.

This is the first book I have read of yours and will definitely look for the others. Your words paint a picture of the characters and the setting. I can just see Essie Mae sitting and talking to Daddy Jim while she weaves. Beautiful!

Dear Nicole.... I am a avid reader and have read my share of good and bad books. I was at a thrift shop the other day and came across a beautiful cover of a paperback called 'The Spirit of SweetGrass" I must admit I never really pay to much attention to the authors but if the cover is interesting I take a chance and get the book. I must tell you that this was the best book I have EVER read. The character of Essie Mae will be imprinted in my heart forever. This book took me to a different place and I never wanted to leave. I will be looking for your books and I am looking forward to getting to know all the different characters . This book was the best 50 cents I ever spent.... Thank you so much....... Gail Rose
