Oh my gosh, just finished reading TtW! So intense, loved the pattern of the characters writing their own chapters. Stirred up a lot of feelings in me regarding my own mom's death from cancer 4-1/2 years ago, especially Alice's reference at the end to "magical thinking", the "what if" your loved one could come back. Heart-wrenching. Thank you for this wonderful book. LOVED the twist at the end ------! Thank you.

Just finished Trouble the Water and wanted to say "HOORAH!" Loved your interweaving pure Lowcountry folklore with black and white women finding strength in one another. Wished I could have recommended it to everyone I know going to the beach this year. A fabulous read in the sand.
