Dear Nicole,
I am a retired teacher and an avid reader. Do I believe in angels?...oh
yes, and finding your book on our library shelves was certainly an angel's
guidance. I absolutely devoured your book as I lost my baby sister a
year ago this past April. It was sudden for SOME but for me not terribly
surprising. She had a brain tumor but refused to see a doctor. The stress
in her life, her low self esteem and fear kept her from telling the
full truth even to me. We were 15 years apart and so have had a very
close bond since her birth as I was like a second mom to her. Her death
and absence were totally devastating even tho' not entirely surprising.
I have felt her presence since that time almost every day and know after
a year of grieving and help and comfort from many friends and angels
that she is at rest for the first time in her life . Last night as I
finished the last pages of TROUBLE THE WATER I was comforted once again
tho' I must admit your book brought me to the first real tears in many
months.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your book has led me to
write a comforting letter to my brother-in-law whom I have totally misjudged
because of my own grief.
God bless you and yours,
Gratefully,
Barb Morissette

I just finished A Hundred
Years of Happiness. What an awesome book. I've read all of your books
and I'm looking forward to the next one. Since I'm originally from Columbia,
SC and I really enjoy novels that take place in the lowcountry. Keep
writing and we will keep reading!
