guestbook To sign my guestbook, please send me a note on the Contact page. Thanks! August 2007
I grew up on Sullivan's Island during the '50s and '60s, and I can tell you that I knew exactly what Essie Mae looked and sounded like as I read your refreshing novel. As much as I wanted to stretch it out, I couldn't slow myself down while reading it. I hope the inspiration it spreads into the hearts of your readers will lead to increased support for the sweetgrass cause! ~ Marnie Huger, VA~ August 27, 2007
Nicole, just finished the book and had to let you know how much I loved it. We have lived in South Carolina just over a year and I am just getting to learn and get interested in the history and cultures of the peoples of South Carolina. I am especially interested in the Gullah/Geechee culture. My family and I just got back from spending a few days in the Pawley's Island area and I took a few trips down 17 toward Charleston and drove by many of the little stand along the side of the road. Many of them were thriving little businesses, but alas many stood empty and neglected. I am interested in your art work. Let me know where you might have any of it for sell. Thank God for you gift of storytelling. It is a treasure. ~ Dawn Barnes, SC~ August 22, 2007
