Loved Trouble the Water. Your writing is fabulous - very refreshing. ~Linda Sealy, SC ~ July 20, 2008
Nicole, I am sorry I missed your talk at Sun City today (7/17/08). While I don't live there I am fortunate to know Diane and be able to attend. I had read your first book when it was just published and told the ladies about you and was thrilled that you were to be speaking there. Unfortunately, I had a closing on a house that I could not miss so it was my loss. "Trouble the Water" is a very imaginative beautiful book and I had questions I wanted to ask but Diane filled me in so I did get some answered. My husband knows your stepdad and I remember him, too, from my years working at Rose Hill Plantation. Its a small world. Joe is a native of Bluffton and I have been here for 25 years so I feel as if I am a native, too. Best of luck on your next book and all to come. ~Jan Pitts , SC ~ July 17, 2008

I just finished "Trouble the Water" last night. My feelings echo others - it was humbling and beautiful. Alice learns to take in the world and become aware--something we should all aspire to in this fast-paced world. The lessons on perspective-taking and learning to love yourself are especially poignant. Thank you for bringing this story to life. ~Megan Krueger , WI ~ July 10, 2008
Being
born a Charlestonian and married to a Sullivans Island girl (54 years
ago)I was really taken with "Sweet Grass" & "Trouble
the Water". My Daddy & I fished every river and creek that
ran throgh any island from Bulls Island to Edisto. Though we are white
folks we had much contact with the wonderful natives. (especially on
John's Island and Edisto). So I feel qualified to say that you got the
culture & spirit of the people just right. ~Bill Bowen , SC ~ July 8, 2008
This was a wonderful, touching story! I love any novel about southern life because I feel that I can relate to it and I've been to some of the locations that are in the book! I love this story and just finished the book today after reading for 5 hours last night! I could not put it down, literally! Can't wait to read your other novels! Thank you for this beautiful, spiritual, inspirational tale! ~Autumn , GA ~ July 8, 2008
Your book "Trouble the Water" moved me to sobbing joy and anguish. I lost my Dad last year to cancer--very quickly and without warning--and you captured the feelings EXACTLY. Thank you for giving me another step on my path to healing and acceptance. ~Karen Sterton , CA ~ July 6, 2008
